What to Know

Critics Consensus

Hotel Transylvania 2 is marginally better than the original, which may or may not be enough of a recommendation to watch 89 minutes of corny, colorfully animated gags from Adam Sandler and company.

Tara Brady Irish Times Still, the material is a lot stronger than anything in the premise-squandering Pixels or lackluster Paul Blart sequel. Rated: 3/5 Feb 25, 2016 Full Review Udita Jhunjhunwala Scroll.in Littered with clichs and rehashed gags, the sequel's strength rests on the impressive art and animation. The simplistic gags might just work with young audiences. Dec 15, 2015 Full Review Stephen Romei The Australian A clever and funny animated romp that kids and adults will enjoy. Rated: 3/5 Dec 4, 2015 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse The movie's family friendly scares won't give kids any nightmares, but it won't make them laugh either. Rated: 2.5/5 Feb 3, 2021 Full Review Mikel Zorrilla Espinof It stays on safe ground at all times trusting that what has already been successful once will be accomplished again. In exchange, it is more fun and with a more effective structure. Emily It was a good message and I definitely found it entertaining. My 11 year old and 5 year old both were into it. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/14/22 Full Review Audience Member i still really like it. maybe not as funny as the first one but still keeps you entertained :) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/09/24 Full Review Cristiano M Para mi la pelicual es decente pero nada especial. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/24/24 Full Review matthias s "Hotel Transylvania 2" is a delightful follow-up in a franchise I absolutely love. The voice cast, led by Adam Sandler, delivers once again with charm and humor, making every character memorable. The animation is vibrant, bringing the spooky yet fun atmosphere of the hotel to life perfectly. The jokes land well, catering to both kids and adults, ensuring that the movie is highly entertaining for all ages. The story is fun and filled with heartwarming moments, and I enjoyed it even more than the first film. The exploration of Dracula's family dynamics is touching, and the blend of humor and supernatural elements works wonderfully. However, I wasn't as impressed by the third act, which felt a bit rushed and predictable compared to the rest of the movie. Still, "Hotel Transylvania 2" is a fun, energetic sequel that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to (almost) finish. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/21/24 Full Review Abel T Better than the first one I like it Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/20/24 Full Review John D Following the first movie the second was an okay watch more of a kids movie then family.
