      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

The Hottie and the Nottie is a crass, predictable, and ineptly staged gross-out comedy that serves little purpose beyond existing as another monument to Paris Hilton's vanity.

Lizete S If you are a hopeless romantic who finds beauty in the little and special aspects of life, then you'll love this movie. Joel is unbelievably adorable and captivating here, which made me become a fan of an actor for the first time in my entire life. The soundtrack is outstandily good, and builds up a very pleasant environment to the story. This movie never fails to make me happy, to the point it became my tranquil haven. The last scene brings me to tears every single time I watch it, and I have watched it many times so far. If you can't see the beauty of this movie, then you don't know what true love is all about. Simply love it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Vincent B Yes, watch this film at least once. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/17/22 Full Review Caleb K This movie is one big unfunny cliché. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/29/22 Full Review Audience Member There's only one scene with unexpected purity, while the rest label this as a nottie due to the frivolously inept direction offensively parodying flaws at utterly ridiculous, desperate lengths with unfunny results by disapproval annoyance. (C-) Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member seriously this film is ridiculous, terrible, but so horrible, ridiculous and crude characters, ridiculous and rough script everything in it is ridiculous and rough. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Josh Lekach co-produced this feces of a flim & is himself a preveour of racism, misogyny, homophobia & bad yt ppl humor. Tim Robey Daily Telegraph (UK) Astonishingly sexist. Mar 28, 2008 Full Review Guardian In truth, parts of The Hottie and the Nottie are no worse than much of the romcom they sucker us with on any given week. Mar 28, 2008 Full Review James Christopher Times (UK) This parody is the divine joke: a heavenly reminder of how fabulously unfair real life is for the rest of us plain mortals. Rated: 2/5 Mar 28, 2008 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com This hottie is definitely a nottie. Nov 13, 2019 Full Review Michael Dequina TheMovieReport.com Just about everything about it feels made for viewing at home, a fact underscored by the porn star monotone that is Hilton's 'acting' voice.
