Derek Malcolm Guardian [A] mish-mash of scream and scream again nonsense. Aug 20, 2021 Full Review Alan Jones Starburst The House on Sorority Row is yet another in a long list of cheap thrills, sure enough, but a skillfully made, well paced one. Aug 1, 2022 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins With an unsatisfying, incomplete conclusion (thanks to a hasty re-edit) and sparse seriousness, this Z-grade flick is most entertaining as a comedy. Rated: 4/10 Sep 6, 2020 Full Review Molly Henery The Blogging Banshee The House on Sorority Row is a film that every horror fan should see at some point. It's influence can be felt in many later films and TV shows. Rated: 8/10 Nov 2, 2018 Full Review Tim Brayton Antagony & Ecstasy Easily the best slasher of 1983 (not a high bar). Rated: 6/10 Jul 25, 2015 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Creative particulars are unexpectedly tight, with writer/director Mark Rosman investing in suspense over pure exploitation, though the basics in nudity, bloodshed, and screamy panic are covered. Music Videos I This film absolutely fails to capture what made slasher films in this era so great. Honestly, it's just a mess. A convoluted film that fails at every turn. The characters are poor, the plot is obvious and badly written and some of the acting is mediocre at an absolute push. I don't know if it's the editing but the house party was still going when I didn't think it was, and apparently ended off screen… or something? That's really indicative of the film. I don't think the concept itself is that bad, but it's horrendously executed. As much as I enjoy a good slasher, I don't think I'll be watching this one again. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/19/23 Full Review Clark P The movies kills fantastic. Acting was good. You could feel literal suspense crawling up your shoulder. Definitely recommend this masterpiece of a movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/24/23 Full Review John R RIFFTRAX This movie was unironically scary. There was even some decent plot work in the latter half of the movie. Yeah, it was shlocky and campy, but the premise of being hunted by an undead old lady with a cane is going to cut into my sleep. Best Riffs: "We can cosplay The Seven Samurai." "And we need you to pole dance." "Get in Nick Nolte's pool." "Standard post-concussion lingerie." "Am I 80s Kristen Stewart?" Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/25/23 Full Review Computey D Not the goriest of slashers but still good. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/21/23 Full Review Liam D It isn't the worst slasher movie, on one hand it's trying to be like others that is doesn't stand out but on the other it's pretty enjoyable Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
