Rachel Saltz New York Times The movie's message, delivered in song at the end, seems less like a credo than like an excuse: "Sometimes all you need to do is try." Rated: 2/5 May 9, 2013 Full Review Amy Nicholson Los Angeles Times [Piscopo] isn't just too good for this film, he's too good to be giving it this much effort. Rated: 2/5 May 9, 2013 Full Review Elizabeth Weitzman New York Daily News There's not much that can kindly be said about either the goofy script or awkward direction. Rated: 1/5 May 9, 2013 Full Review Ethan Alter Television Without Pity How Sweet It Is may be sweet in spirit, but as a movie it isn't so, you know, sweet. May 10, 2013 Full Review Read all reviews

steven c This was a passion project for my ego. I was down and out in life and needed to make some money as I was gambling my car payment. Once my Corvette got repossessed I realized that was in over my head.... Which is only 4 ft 11 in sneakers with lifts. The only way I could get a lead role was to write myself into a storyline. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/18/24 Full Review Audience Member Great musical numbers, terrific performances from all especially Piscopo and Sorvino. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/20/20 Full Review Audience Member Not really a musical. Pretty awful early on, but some of the more involved gags landed in the 2nd and 3rd act. Not good, could be worse. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Truly entertaining, good acting, brand new premise Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie really had some funny situations. It's quirky and funny. I liked it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
