Erich Bergen
Erich Bergen was born in 1985 in New York City. He attended the prestigious Stagedoor Manor performing arts camp in the Catskills for a number of years. He sold merchandise at "Wicked" on Broadway for a year, and, as a teen, hosted a podcast called "Green Room Radio," where he would interview Broadway actors, then, in 2006, he was cast in the role of Bob Gaudio in the touring company of the Four Seasons musical "Jersey Boys." The show eventually landed in Las Vegas, which gave Bergen closer access to Hollywood. Once his onstage role ended, he moved to Los Angeles and quickly began auditioning and landing roles. Bergen's first on-screen exposure was in a multi-episode guest role on "Gossip Girl" (The CW, 2007-2012). He continued to play in guest roles on series, including "Desperate Housewives" (ABC, 2004-2012), "Person of Interest" (CBS, 2011-) and "Childrens Hospital" (The WB, 2008; Adult Swim, 2009-) until 2013, when he reprised his role as Bob Gaudio for Clint Eastwood's filmed adaptation of "Jersey Boys." The film was released to good reviews and modest box office, and provided Bergen with his first shot of international exposure. Bergen's next role was his first as a series regular, playing personal assistant to Tea Leoni's Secretary of State in "Madam Secretary" (CBS, 2014- ).
