Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media A surefire contender for one of the worst Christmas movies ever made, this painfully unfunny comedy is filled with characters and behaviors so thoughtless and misguided that it's flat-out insulting. Rated: 1/5 Dec 3, 2023 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film Though we don’t get to know everybody very well, they work as an ensemble, creating a believable family dynamic – chihuahua included. Pipil C The Actors were actually fine but the direction and editing was bad. I am Hispanic so I also felt that the jokes about Mexican people were not done in the correct way to be funny. I sat through this with the residents of the nursing home I work with and dang was it a difficult watch. I was hoping for something better for the holiday season at work but this movie didn't help. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/28/24 Full Review Ann R What a terrible movie!! So silly and the depiction of a Hispanic family was ridiculous! Worse acting ever! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/28/24 Full Review SevynOsirah M I’m sorry.. it seems like all comedians get less funny with age and that sucks. Maybe the fame and riches make them lose touch with what’s humorous… George looks like a melting popsicle in this and isn’t funny at all. As a Mexican, this movie makes me uncomfortable. It’s not funny, it’s cheaply made and god it’s cringe. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/25/24 Full Review Daniel C George Lopez terrible , movie terrible !!! Flat out worse Christmas movie ever made!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/10/24 Full Review Christopher J A movie that attempts to make light of cultural differences at Christmas but handles the subject matter in the absolute worst possible way. Every character acts in ways that no human would, almost robotic at times. Naturally as it features a Latino family, the Latino culture the movie attempts to portray suffers the most. The stereotypes that the movie pushes as an attempt at "humor" fall flat basically every single time. The cinematography is off, the movie was shot out of order with no thought put towards events that happened earlier. For example, early on, the gringo boyfriend trims a bush into a fancy shape, but throughout the rest of the movie the bush is untrimmed again. Another unbelievable moment is when the girlfriend and her aunt are playing the boyfriends newly developed "video game", clearly a single player game that they are both somehow playing with Nintendo 64 controllers. I wouldn't have believed it unless I saw it with my own eyes. Honestly, most of the movie feels like a fever dream. It dragged. I thought the movie was approaching 2 hours when in fact it has an 1 hour 20 minute runtime. Avoid this movie at all costs. It's not a "so bad it's good" situation. It's more of an 80 minute insult to the viewer's intelligence. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/05/24 Full Review Gloria M All I have to say is terrible movie.
