Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media A surefire contender for one of the worst Christmas movies ever made, this painfully unfunny comedy is filled with characters and behaviors so thoughtless and misguided that it's flat-out insulting. Rated: 1/5 Dec 3, 2023 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film Though we don’t get to know everybody very well, they work as an ensemble, creating a believable family dynamic – chihuahua included. Daniel C George Lopez terrible , movie terrible !!! Flat out worse Christmas movie ever made!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/10/24 Full Review Christopher J A movie that attempts to make light of cultural differences at Christmas but handles the subject matter in the absolute worst possible way. Every character acts in ways that no human would, almost robotic at times. Naturally as it features a Latino family, the Latino culture the movie attempts to portray suffers the most. The stereotypes that the movie pushes as an attempt at "humor" fall flat basically every single time. The cinematography is off, the movie was shot out of order with no thought put towards events that happened earlier. For example, early on, the gringo boyfriend trims a bush into a fancy shape, but throughout the rest of the movie the bush is untrimmed again. Another unbelievable moment is when the girlfriend and her aunt are playing the boyfriends newly developed "video game", clearly a single player game that they are both somehow playing with Nintendo 64 controllers. I wouldn't have believed it unless I saw it with my own eyes. Honestly, most of the movie feels like a fever dream. It dragged. I thought the movie was approaching 2 hours when in fact it has an 1 hour 20 minute runtime. Avoid this movie at all costs. It's not a "so bad it's good" situation. It's more of an 80 minute insult to the viewer's intelligence. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/05/24 Full Review Gloria M All I have to say is terrible movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/24/24 Full Review Daniel M I’ll always enjoy watching anything George Lopez, but this movie sucked bad. Terrible acting with cringy scenes made it a tough watch at times. It did have a few moments that made us laugh so at least it wasn’t a complete waste. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/10/24 Full Review Melinda L George Lopez give it up! You were once funny but portraying Hispanics to that level was a disgrace. The plot was horrible and you were funnier in the George Lopez show. It's time to retire instead of being booed off the stage. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/24 Full Review michael m Nice funny movie with a twist of Mexican culture comedy style. 5 stars all day long. Must see movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/24 Full Review Read all reviews
