Audience Member Sat in on an open discussion with Alec Morgan at a screening of Hunt Angels. Some really interesting stories are woven into the making of this film, it is entertaining and a great interpretation of Australia's early film industry. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member A good documentary about early Australian filmmakers, but not a great one. Failed to give me the same inspired feeling that is usually guaranteed when I watch a movie about filmmaking, but it was an interesting story. I think it would have worked better as a straight narrative. Earned a star for its visual effects - the world of Sydney and Victoria in the 30s-50s was created with animated still photographs in a very clever way. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Mix of doco and drama, nice insight into the social history of Sydney and of Australian film making. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Audacious and surprisingly effective mix of drama and documentary telling the story of Aussie pioneer filmmakers/outlaws, Rupert Kathner and Alma Brooks. Victoria Hill is a delicious, magnetic presence. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
