Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express These are not new stories, but they mostly do not find a central place in our movies because they cut too close to the bone. Onir brings them into much-needed focus in I Am. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 2, 2019 Full Review Simon Foster sbs.com.au That the film amounts to slightly less than the sum of its parts does not diminish the admirable intent of the young writer-director, whose approach represents a naked flame to some potent thematic fuel. Audience Member an intense film with a message and reality sans a preachy voice or dullness which presumably shuns the audience in general.. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Marred by contrived writing, I Am drifts into being an 'issue' film and often the issue with those kinda films is that they opt for the cheap 'look how horrible this is' instead of a deep exploration of human truths. Onir lacks the subtle touch in his writing that he has in his direction. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member An honest attempt for Bollywood. The movie gain some publicity when the film director actually went on Facebook to recruits producer as none of Indian producers wanted to sponsor the project because of it's taboo and unusual plot for Indian cinema. That interested me, although the movie can be much much better revamp and polish but judging from Bollywood standard, 'I Am' directed by Onir is quite done well. Divided into four segments, each represents an intriguing tale of modern Indian society. Personally, I like Sanjay Suri's scene where he plays as the victim of a molested child. All actors did well and it's a treat to see two of my favorite Indian actress sharing the same scene (Beautiful Manisha Koirala and Juhi Chawla) 6.3/10. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member A collection of 4 stories with incendiary topics (in Indian context), dealing with child abuse, gay relationship, Kashmir issue and single parenthood through artificial insemination. Great performances and a good script makes this a memorable experience. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member A collection of 4 stories with incendiary topics (in Indian context), dealing with child abuse, gay relationship, Kashmir issue and single parenthood through artificial insemination. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member A movie that explores human misfits trying to fit into the world in their own unique way is the story of I AM ... ! Art house cinema stands tall on strong performances from all the cast and some really good scenes that just touch you at a different level ... ! Especially stands out Rahul Bose's scene with the cop and Kashyap sequences with the young Sanjay Suri .. !! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
