Audience Member Hard to watch, harder to comprehend the lack of willingness to evoke change from our court systems. Informative and heartbreaking. Disturbing due to the horrific nature of true events. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Everyone should see this Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Good documentary on a sad fact of American life, and how our US government won't do anything to change it... I think people would be shocked and appalled that this happens in America and that so little is done to help combat it by our elected officials, and the fact that the people making millions off of it hide behind an old law. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Must see, powerful film which exposes the shocking ease of underage sex trafficking in the US. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member I am Jane Doe is a documentary about a group of mothers seeking justice for their daughters who were victims of sex trafficking on Backpage.com. This documentary shines a light on a very serious problem of sex trafficking and how huge, powerful companies such as Backpage.com are complicit in the advertisement of children for sex on their website and possibly the encouragement of it for profit. It is a very matter of fact film, focussing on the legal battle but also includes some powerful statements from some of the young women who were victims of these awful crimes and their mothers. Frustratingly, as if often the case with the justice system, it is a long and complicated affair for the families to try and take down Backpage.com that is still to be resolved. However this film is definitely worth watching, if not only to be aware of just how rampant sex trafficking is and how easily a loved one can taken and sold into this awful industry.
