Nelson Burns (Te Pana) Courier Mail (Australia) I Met a Murderer will do nothing to enhance the reputation of British actor James Mason. Quite the reverse, in fact, for it easily is the worst of his film contributions. Audience Member This Indie-Murder-Melodrama by James Mason & friends was done as a "Calling Card" for their talents. It's average but not bad. You've seen the synopsis of this film but what it doesn't tell is that the Manson character also kills his wife's lazy brother. The ending is similar to another later noir that Mason starred in, 'The Upturned Glass'. If you're looking into the early works of James Mason it's not a bad choice. I first saw this movie years ago at the Film Form Theatre in NYC as part of their Film Noir Festival. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
