Martin Unsworth Starburst As in often the case, many of the gags fall as flat as the puny title, and the 'VHS effect' gets a bit wearing as the film goes on, but there are enough amusing moments to make it worth your while. Rated: 6/10 Jan 10, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Dave C "When bloody murder comes to Mellow Coast (at) Halloween, I'll scream, you'll scream, we'll all SCREAM ON THE BEACH!" From start to finish, this is a cavalcade unlike any other, in homage to the great horrors of the 1980s, and it really delivers. The visuals are authentic, with the tracking from the VHS re-recording, as well as many-and-varied 80s-esque effects and makeup. You have to love that the dubbing is also in true 80s style. There are Easter eggs aplenty for horror fans of bygone days, enhanced further by the comedy, as well as the typical horror characters we've come to love and expect within horror (scream queen, horror nut, creepy person, foreshadowing role, etc). Said characters are performed brilliantly by the cast, who seemingly effortlessly deliver said tropes. It lands perfectly, as the directors intended - a true reflection of 1980s horror. Done so well in 2020, that's a pretty phenomenal achievement in my book. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
