Simon Abrams RogerEbert.com Smart and scary horror films about faith, and loneliness are rare, and for the most part, "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" is pretty exciting. Rated: 2.5/4 Oct 17, 2013 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety A rather turgid ghost story with a simultaneously murky and silly take on the afterlife. Oct 11, 2013 Full Review Annlee Ellingson Los Angeles Times The question why ... persists. Oct 11, 2013 Full Review Debbie Lynn Elias Behind The Lens If I Will Follow You Into The Dark is any indication of Mark Edwin Robinson's talents, his future is indeed bright. Nov 27, 2019 Full Review Dan Lybarger Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Robinson apparently believes the best way to jolt an audience is to have several sequences where darkness and silence linger on the screen before having loud music wake viewers up from a well-deserved slumber. Rated: 1/5 Oct 13, 2013 Full Review Christopher Schobert The Playlist Davidson's movie aims for Polanski dread, but instead feels jumbled and weak-kneed - half made-for-Lifetime, half horror-wannabe. Audience Member Disembodied purpose of lowbrow utter nonsense evoking noninterest in all angles, whilst sapped similarly like something Hallmark would make whether actually better or worse enough to just stick with mysteries. (C-) Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member She loses her dad and is anti everything after-life related....until the guy comes along. And when he goes missing - it's trippy visit to the border of life and death. Unfortunately, it's a boring trip. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member 1 Star This building has no stairs, plus the acting needs a lot of improvement. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member A sad and sorrowful case of being misunderstood, and the credit is not given where it's due. How often does an indie film approach bold questions about life and death? Then about doubting faith in our human condition? Then about what darkness is waiting for us after that, (as dreaded by some) final breath before the bridge of goodbye, and then run down the haunted hotel halls from shadow demons that are claiming your soul? Audience members only see a failed lights-and-lasers show, only focused on the value of production and calling it a catastrophe of cinema. I only see a tender subject matter being disguised as a ghost story. C'MON PEOPLE! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member The story is so lacking as a romance, but as a horror, it has those freaky moments that make you want to shut your eyes. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review farah r As a romance it's cliche and mediocre but as a horror there are definitely some chilling elements and creepy ghost moments that are hard to get over when your alone at night.
