Glenn Kenny RogerEbert.com Swab wants to get to Heat but he can't get anything up to a proper temperature. Rated: 2/4 Nov 5, 2021 Full Review Angie Han Hollywood Reporter Nothing kills excitement like endless repetition - and Ida Red turns out to be just the latest faint echo of stories we've heard too many times already. Oct 27, 2021 Full Review Jay Weissberg Variety The second half has too many unexplained plot leaps but the earlier emphasis on family dynamics saves this action-crime thriller. Aug 13, 2021 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies “Ida Red” doesn’t always seem sure of itself or of the best way to get to its fairly predictable end. But John Swab does a good job building a family dynamic that’s both interesting and believable. Rated: 3/5 Aug 16, 2022 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed The cast really sells this movie and makes it a strong ensemble piece. Rated: 4/5 Nov 7, 2021 Full Review Ferdosa Abdi Screen Rant Ida Red, unfortunately, seems to fall into the trap of emulating better crime dramas instead of trying to stand out on the merits of its own story. Margo r Great performances by Hartnett, Grillo and Leo. It's a suspenseful script with good action and violence. Dysfunctional family ties. We really liked it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/26/23 Full Review Vera A Felt this is an under rated movie. Has some really good actors, who helped make it better. I did find a few parts of it lacking, other then that it's a good movie that is worth watching if you are into this style, which isn't for everyone. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review joe p lots of holes and unanswered questions. maybe made for the european movies. they always have holes so your subconscious wont believe you were there. we only dream in 2d. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review stoner j This is a decent low budget crime thriller/drama with a cool ending Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Okay but not great. There's some pretty good character development. I pretty much hated the title character right from the first moment I laid eyes on her, and that didn't change throughout the film. In fact, this is a whole family full of scummy people. Even the teenage daughter/granddaughter has few, if any, redeeming values. The dance scene right before the demented uncle kills the stranger who witnessed him killing is kind of compelling. But it only serves to illustrate just how selfish and unfeeling he is. And what's so interesting about that? (FWIW, I saw this on an airplane.) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Good cast and acting isn't bad, but such a boring movie. The plot sucks and doesn't have much going on. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
