Wildflower R A comment on the dubbing: I watched with and without dubbing and much prefer the dubbed version. I don't at all mind subtitles usually, but for dialog-driven films like this, reading subtitles makes it difficult to read the nuance on the actors' faces and follow gestures and subtle actions. While the dubbing is a bit uneven--some actors sound more natural than others--generally the dubbed dialog just comes across as a bit theatrical but not distracting once one gets adjusted. I found the dubbed version much more involving than the subtitled version. The film has high production value and the story has charm and humor. Yes, it's predictable that the two will end up falling in love, but the enjoyment is in how we get to the resolution rather than the predictable ending. I wish we had more character-driven films with witty dialog rather than the predictable comic book super hero and fantasy plots churned out today. I highly recommend this film for anyone who enjoys Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Anthony Trollope, EM Forester, as well as Merchant Ivory films. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/26/25 Full Review John C I wish it had not been dubbed. Otherwise an excellent fim. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/13/25 Full Review Audience Member It's quite a lovely story , with pleasant costumes and location. I really enjoyed it and watched the dubbed to English version. No gratuitous sex scenes needed to tell this simple touching story. The dubbing however is lazy and didn't make sense in areas. Also the voices of the actors were really grating at times. But the story shon through and I will watch it again but choose subtitles unless they update the dubbing to do the film justice. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/29/24 Full Review evelina s It is a BEAUTIFUL movie!! So beautifully filmed, and touching. You fall in love right alongside the heroine. I loved it. Very clean except for two scenes. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/11/24 Full Review Jay I Beautiful settings, lovely characters, classic old fashioned love story, with a not unexpected twist. A nice way to pass an evening after a stressful day. I hope these actors get some recognition in USA film circles. Would love to see more of them. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/09/24 Full Review Rebecca H The dubbing was horrible. Much was lost/altered/messed up in translation. It honestly has a good plot. Typical romance stuff for those interested. Costumes were great. Setting beautiful. Made Hungary look charming. Trashy stuff thrown in. Why? Cliches. Why?
