ashley h If Winter Comes is a decent film. It is the small English town of Penny Green and events in Poland are about to change lives in 1939. Walter Pidgeon and Deborah Kerr give good performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. Victor Saville did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the drama and romance. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Great movie with interesting characters and excellent performances. Walter Pidgeon is really great in this role, a real stand-out. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member ok melodrama but seems dated Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Good cast, better than the melodramatic script deserves, all keep stiff upper lips through all kinds of goings on. Angela is one cold customer in this. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review dave j Friday, October 1, 2010 (1947) If Winter Comes DRAMA Another silly soap opera full of misunderstandings and overeactions which has remnants of "The Ox-bow Incident" except this one is a non- Western involving alot of imbeciles jumping to conclusions that involves well intentioned writer Mark (Walter Pidgeon), a writer of school textbooks and Nona (Deborah Kerr)! I had no idea if this film was more a social commentary or an actual event that actually happend and then by the time the film was over- I ended up not even caring about the film all together! Overall, kind of pointless! 1.5 out of 4 Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member just ok weepie drama Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
