Audience Member If You Were the Last is a fun yet predictable Rom Com that has a nice little sci fi aspect to it. For the majority of our film our two leads who have great chemistry are stuck in space together alone for about 3 years. They both have spouses back at home and end up getting romantically involved in Space because they don’t know if they are going to ever make it back home. The film is a breath of fresh air as it is creatively different then other Rom Coms before it yet it’s still pretty predictable to figure out. If you are looking for that quick straight to point romantic movie with some great humor as well then check this one out. If You Were the Last gets 3 stars out of 5. Lex Briscuso Inverse Though Mercado’s script somewhat sluggishly navigates the aftermath, the film’s sincerity and heart prove it is the latest, and one of the greatest, in the overarching canon of emotionally-driven science fiction. Mar 20, 2023 Full Review Nick Allen RogerEbert.com “If You Were the Last” is game for fluffy rom-com-like tension, but it fears its own premise. What a missed opportunity. Mar 17, 2023 Full Review Amy Nicholson Variety A romantic comedy that revives the screwball formula where two people talk themselves silly — and we only had to go to the end of the solar system to make it happen. Rated: B+ Mar 12, 2023 Full Review Matt Pais MattPais.com Takes a potentially limited setup and turns it into a cute movie about intimacy that actually understands and engages the challenge. Rated: B Mar 4, 2024 Full Review Cristina Escobar LatinaMedia.Co "If You Were the Last" expertly balances an initial stoner look with a mushy gushy sentimentality. Nov 8, 2023 Full Review Jennifer Green Common Sense Media It's all a little odd but entertaining enough that it works. Rated: 3/5 Oct 26, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
