ivy w 10/07/2022 iGilbert isn't for everyone given the subject matter. But it's very well done for what it is. It's scary to think of how easy it is to 'creep' into someone else's life undetected, particularly as a women it's frightening. But the performances are stunning and the film well directed. Adrian Martinez is wonderful as Gilbert who does horrific, despicable things. But because he delivers a whole human being on screen and not just a characterization of an evil creep, you come to understand why he is the way he is. As a result you root for him to change. Dascha Polanco as Jana, is victimized not only by Gilbert but her abusive partner, but is no victim. She has strength and courage and delivers a captivating performance. You believe these characters and the chemistry between them. The supporting characters give powerful performances, terrifying and real. It's shot well and takes you on a journey where you dare to hope for the best in those who may have no hope for themselves. Watch with someone you love and trust so you can give each other hugs when it's over. See more MAX D @Max140 09/29/2022 This is a dark experimental film not for the squeamish.
