Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Rated: 2/5 Aug 22, 2005 Full Review Phil Freeman culturevulture.net It's as if the producers were ashamed of what they were up to, and thought they could disguise it by blanketing the thing with the trappings of science fiction. Aug 5, 2002 Full Review Scott Weinberg eFilmCritic.com It's more of a visual 'conversation piece' than a cohesive story, but it's most assuredly for adults only! Audience Member Somewhere between pornography, science fiction, and avant-garde cinema, there is I.K.U., Taiwanese multimedia artist Shu Lea Cheang's cyberpunk exploration of desire and identity that unfortunately lacks the cohesion and sense that would make it truly provocative. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Not really sure what to make of this one. It's weird, but it is Japanese, so that is a given. A sex robot goes through various couplings to collect data, and in the end to be free. It sometimes almost feels like a porn movie, but it surely isn't. Very experimental, which sometimes works, but most of the time you're just sitting thinking what? Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member A truly bizarre sci/fi porno that defies the least bit of sense. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member This is just bad porn. HA! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't remember how I found this and its probably social suicide to type a review on it. I gotta say though, this was pretty terrible. Just bad, all around. Ambitious and exploratory, though. I'll give it that much. But worst of all? It's just a turn off. That's right: entirely flaccid for all of those 60 boring minutes. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm not sure how I found out about this, but this was totally not a sci-fi flick. This was kind of like a porn. It was much weirder, though. I'm not sure what the story was, they kept flashing pieces of the plot up, but I didn't really get any of that from the scenes... I think it might have been in English too, but without subtitles you have no clue what they're saying. Not that they are saying anything worth hearing. The flashing around to different scenes and angles was interesting, but it just made this a weird experimental-ish movie. I'm sure the director's intention was how much crazy fetish weirdness can we put in this. It's kind of like a video game at times. The bad part is that if they would have just added some basic plot items down in something other than word flashes, this might have been an interesting movie. I'm kind of clueless what this was about after watching it. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
