Vanessa (Jillian Bell) embarks on a solo trip to clear her head after the death of her best friend Jennifer (Natalie Morales). The movie is classified as a comedy by Hulu, but it's more like a comedy-spiced drama. The writing is excellent, and the characters feel very realistic. The sci-fi aspect makes it interesting and makes me wonder what will happen next. Overall, absolutely would recommend. I cried twice while watching it.

So not Hollywood which is a good thing. If you expect CGI sci-fi action then skip this one. Best line "Van-es-sa ... that is an air-plane." Rich subtle humor & genuine heart.

I liked the characters and the relationship between them. It would have been so much better if the alien didn't talk in a robot voice and there were more characters in the movie. The honest emotions kept the movie afloat.

This is a very worth watching movie. Clever, funny, and surprisingly touching. There are very few films with a cast of less than 10 people. This one was, and four or five will stay with me for a good long while.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this one. And I was very pleasantly surprised. I thought the acting was good. The story and writing were both great. I just love little indie films like this. As you may have read in the description it's about a woman who just lost her business partner and friend from childhood. She goes to a villa out in the country that she had originally rented to celebrate their business. But now she's going to spend the weekend on her own. When she gets there, the caterer show up and she's told she can't cancel her. And she's already paid for the party. Then a woman arrives who looks exactly like her partner. But, in fact, it's an alien doing research on humans. The two end up getting into a bunch of mischief together. I know it sounds corny, but it's actually very well done. I especially liked the scene where the dj shows up and they end up trashing the place while celebrating. If you're looking for something a bit different, give this one a chance. P. S. In case you're wondering, I'm not a friend of the film crew, actors, or anything. I'm just a film lover.
