Jillian Bell was an American comedian and actress whose best known roles included Jillian Belk on the cult TV comedy "Workaholics" (Comedy Central 2011-17) and Mercedes in the movie "22 Jump Street" (2014). Born and raised in Las Vegas, Bell began studying improv comedy at the age of eight. After graduating from Bishop Gorman High School in 2002, she moved to Los Angeles where she eventually joined the famed improvisational sketch comedy troupe The Groundlings. Soon after joining, "Saturday Night Live" (NBC 1975- ) creator and producer Lorne Michaels stopped by to look for new talent and invited Bell to New York City to audition for the show. Although she didn't make the cut, she was called back by head writer and cast member Seth Meyers to join "SNL" as a writer in 2009. In the same year, she made her first television appearance in an episode of Larry David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" (HBO 1999-2011). After spending one year as a writer on "SNL," Bell returned to Los Angeles to resume her work with the Groundlings. In 2011, she landed the role of Jillian Belk, the often disrespected office manager on Comedy Central's "Workaholics." Over the next few years, she landed a small part in the blockbuster comedy "Bridesmaids" (2011) as well as recurring roles in television shows such as "Partners" (CBS 2012) and Danny McBride's "Eastbound & Down" (HBO 2009-2013). In 2014, Bell had her breakthrough role with a show-stealing performance as Mercedes in the action comedy sequel "22 Jump Street," starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. She followed that up with supporting roles in Paul Thomas Anderson's "Inherent Vice" (2014), and in Jack Black's "Goosebumps" (2015) and the Seth Rogen comedy "The Night Before" (2015). She also performed voice roles in "The Angry Birds Movie" (2016) and "Charming" (2016) before co-starring in "Office Christmas Party" (2016). She also co-created and starred in the TV series "Idiotsitter" (Comedy Central 2016- ).
