Poised between Christopher Guest and Mike Leigh, Lynn Shelton lets talented performers develop their characters, and it grounds the heightened premise to keep us in their side. Go to Full Review

For a comedy about an old weapon with a dulled blade, Sword of Truth is razor sharp in just about every way. Go to Full Review

I really enjoyed this film on multiple levels. It is so funny, and it also got me thinking about our culture and the ways that false narratives travel. Go to Full Review

Larry F 01/31/2024 If you are a Maron fan, then you may like this movie. Otherwise, it comes across like a failed TV pilot that was pitched to TBS. How this was green lit into a movie is beyond my understanding. See more Shari H 04/06/2023 Fantastic characters. Really enjoyed this film. Not a weak character in the bunch. And not only the characters but such a strong script. I am really sad the director died because she shares some genius here. The simple moments between people when they peak around the mask. Well done. See more Emma T 03/26/2023 Several laugh out loud moments. Very entertaining, silly, and ridiculous. My kind of comedy. See more isla s 09/03/2022 This is quite a good film, with the 2 main performances done well by Gwyneth Paltrow and Daniel Craig. Its a sad story of course but I liked some of the prose spoken and its not too bad in terms of being a period piece. It isn't a film I'm likely to want to re-watch but it's a pretty good film otherwise - somewhat thought provoking I suppose. Yes, I would recommend it. See more 02/27/2022 The dry intelligent humor and 4 main characters make this a movie worth watching. The story was original enough that you did not see what was coming (which I appreciate) but the writing toward the end (and a few of the actors along the way) were a bit hokey. Still, the movie overall is pretty good. See more ben n @Bneffer 02/01/2022 I like all of the characters in this low-key comedy. Not everything has to be laugh-out-loud funny to be entertaining in a comedy. I enjoyed this and recommend, as long as you understand it is muted and undersold. See more Read all reviews
