      Critics Consensus

In Darkness blindly stumbles through routine thriller antics, supported by a steady Natalie Dormer, but not much else.

Georgan G Once it was over I liked this film. But while viewing it, I always felt a scene behind in the quickly moving plot. Names were so foreign to me that it was difficult to figure who is who. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/24 Full Review Jeeves D Better than expected. Great acting by Natalie Dormer. Loved plot twists, though some are hard to understand. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/10/23 Full Review Donna M My favorite genre. Very well done. Well paced, acted and scripted from start to finish. Can't say much more without ruining the plot. Myst watch for yourself. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/05/23 Full Review Kosmo Natalie dormer is quite good in this movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/04/23 Full Review jelisije j A film that had showed great potential, but couldn't stick the landing at the end. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Kevin Maher Times (UK) It feels like three long seasons of quality television squashed into one savagely overstuffed cinematic piata. Rated: 2/5 Jul 6, 2018 Full Review Linda Marric HeyUGuys A talented cast and a handsome sense of time and place can't save this thriller from being caught in a cliche-ridden and uninspiring undertow. Rated: 2/5 Jul 6, 2018 Full Review Geoffrey Macnab Independent (UK) This initially promising blind-woman-in-peril thriller soon loses its way. Rated: 2/5 Jul 5, 2018 Full Review Witney Seibold Critically Acclaimed Podcast Natalie Dormer gives a passionate performance in a thriller with a moody style but not many interesting new ideas. Feb 13, 2020 Full Review Katie Hogan VultureHound The film is a welcome change to the British thriller landscape. Rated: 3/5 Feb 3, 2020 Full Review Jeff York Creative Screenwriting The final reveal may have you scratching your head, but damn if [Anthony] Byrne and [Natalie] Dormer don't pull it off with aplomb.
