Tim H I don't have a lot to say about this film, it was just dull and uninteresting. Even Sam Neill could not save this slog. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/02/24 Full Review gamopetalous The first thing shown after the opening dance scene is the portrayal of a bare breasted 15 year old girl mid coitus? That's legal, how? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/28/23 Full Review Audience Member For me, the center of the film is Caroline, that buzzing bundle of contradictory passions that earned my awe and even sympathy… callous descriptions of her from other reviewers on this site go a long way in explaining how she became a killer… she read those reviews and went ballistic? The rest of the film is polished, evenly paced, maybe a bit dull, with music dribbled over scenes like treacle, but Caroline makes it all throb. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member My frustration with the movie is hiw inaccurate it is. The way the killer is portrayed, she wasnt that out of control. They way the police were portrayed, they began searching on the day after she went missing. The facts overall are just wrong. I understand you take liberties in stories like this because of time needs, but thus is just too much of a departure from the truth for me. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME 🍿 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Very bizarre movie there Aussies but also quite interesting. It's a true story which makes it even more insane. A lot of sick people in this world. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Sam Adams AV Club The first red flag is the opening title card, which reads "This is a true story." The use of "is" rather than "based on" or "inspired by" is a harbinger of the lack of perspective and humility that enables the film's most egregious excesses. Rated: C- Feb 10, 2011 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews The unpleasant narrative makes for a disturbing but not a good drama. Rated: C- Jul 24, 2016 Full Review Brian Orndorf BrianOrndorf.com It's on the sloppy side, but the primary textures of alarm are sustained and sharply performed, making for a gut-wrenching viewing experience with a foundation in reality that's too awful to bear. Rated: B- Jun 12, 2011 Full Review Erik Childress eFilmCritic.com The makers of In Her Skin must be prepared to cut a check to anyone who ever read, wrote, made, or saw The Lovely Bones.
