The film is destined to be ignored as it bounces from one streaming service to another in the near future, and as rudimentary and familiar as this subtle scare-fest may be, part of me can’t help but think that’s frustratingly too bad. Go to Full Review

A pretty awful starring vehicle for the actor that she also produced, a film unlikely to produce many sparks beyond those set off by the morbidly curious. Go to Full Review

In the Fire isn’t particularly remarkable and may have benefited from a more profound exploration of its themes, but Allyn delivers a subtle exercise in horror, led sturdily by Heard. Go to Full Review

While beautifully shot and filled with great emotional performances, In the Fire isn't quite the smart horror it presents itself to be. It falls into every generic trap imaginable and is easily one of the most predictable films of the year. Go to Full Review

A commendable exercise in classic, gothic-infused horror that is worth watching on the small screen. Genre fans would appreciate it, especially those blessed with a little patience. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

For a movie about a sinister child unintentionally terrorizing a small town, it lacks any real suspense. Go to Full Review

It had an interesting plot, but predictably developed into a lame in-the-box production. Heard's performance was not very convincing, kind of like her testimony on the stand during THE trial. However, the other performances were good, especially the young boy. I wish they'd used a little more imagination and created a better ending.
