Audience Member Interesting swan song to Yojimbo, colorful and exciting. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member (*** 1/2): Thumbs Up Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member They say many samurai/ronin films are influenced by American Westerns, and Machibuse definitely feels like one. It's even got the same kind of corny score (except the marvelous drumming scenes). Nothing particularly special, but entertaining. Mifune seems to be phoning it in a little. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Very good samurai flick which obviouswanted to be a Kurosawa film without using the director. Not as violent as other films in the genre, but more of a character study. Still, i enjoyed it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member the movie had the heart of sanjuro and yojimbo, but not the drive, probably because the lack of Kurosawa's awesome directing. It was a fun movie, a little over acted and not as executed as well as the other movies, but still a good watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member this movie was very odd, the pacing was slow. but i really liked it. it used toshiro mifune very well and although it was sort of a typical wandering samurai movie it was still an interesting character study. if you liked twighlight samurai you might like this.
