Michelle Swope HorrorNews.net The writing and the acting just didn't cause me to become invested enough in the story to allow me to fully enjoy the film the way I believe the filmmakers intended. Rated: 2.5/5 Feb 28, 2019 Full Review Andrew Marshall Starburst Creating an intentionally bad film that ends up as something entertaining rather than utterly disposable is much harder than you might think ... but the blunt force nostalgia trip of Inhumanwich! ... can be counted among them. BRizz 2 Inhumanwich! is a film I just watched, and honestly, it was absolutely atrocious from start to finish. If you’re in the mood for a so-bad-it’s-funny experience, then sure, you might get a laugh out of this ridiculous thing. But if you’re looking for a real quality movie, avoid it at all costs. The movie is shot in black-and-white, which on the surface might sound like a creative stylistic choice. But here, it doesn’t add atmosphere or a sense of old-school charm—it just makes it harder to enjoy. It’s not a classic black-and-white with careful lighting and framing; it’s a cheap, flat-looking black-and-white film that feels more like a gimmick than a creative decision. The plot? Completely insane. The story follows aliens who somehow manage to take over a blob of meat—yes, literally a hamburger—and then it mutates into a monster. It grows teeth, it starts attacking people, and it essentially becomes a man-eating meat monster running around wreaking havoc. On paper, that could maybe work as campy horror comedy, but here it’s handled so poorly that you don’t know whether to laugh or just shake your head. Half the time I was sitting there thinking, “Is this really a movie? Or is this an extended bad joke someone accidentally got funding for?” The direction is horrendous. Scenes feel stitched together with no flow or pacing, and the tone is all over the place. One moment it’s supposed to be terrifying, the next it’s like a parody skit, but none of it lands in a way that works. And then there’s this bizarre scene involving kids—where instead of hiding or trying to figure out how to survive, they’re just casually making out. Like, seriously? A man-eating hamburger monster is out there and this is the best the writers could come up with? It was lame, awkward, and honestly kind of uncomfortable. It makes you wonder what the director and writing team were even thinking including that in the script. The acting doesn’t help either. Wooden performances, awkward line delivery, and characters that feel more like parodies of parodies than actual people. It makes it nearly impossible to get invested, even in a so-bad-it’s-good kind of way. At the end of the day, Inhumanwich! is just a ridiculous mess. A terrible film from top to bottom. The concept is already silly, but in the right hands it could’ve been fun, campy, and self-aware. Instead, it’s lazy, poorly directed, and full of strange creative choices that make it even worse. I can’t recommend it to anyone—unless, of course, you’re deliberately looking for a trainwreck to laugh at. Personally, I regret wasting the time on it. Every once in a while, I think to myself, “Maybe I’ll give one of these low-budget oddities a try just to see if there’s any hidden charm.” And every single time—just like with this one—I end up realizing the cover art told me everything I needed to know. This was bad, I knew it was bad, and I still watched it. My mistake. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/19/25 Full Review Cameron S Some movies are bad. Some movies are great. I say this with full confidence there's only one movie like Inhumanwich. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/27/25 Full Review Richy's R I wish I could say I like it. Nice try. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/06/24 Full Review David B Intentionally dumb, I thought it would be terrible, but I'm laughing my ass off! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/08/24 Full Review Audience Member A pleasant surprise considering it's tiny budget, within five minutes I completely got what they were going for here. It's a funny spoof on the classic creature features of old and it successfully exposes and lampoons every trope in the book. Inhumanwich is worth the watch based on its throwback style and the clever jokes that follow. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Incredibly campy and completely hilarious.
