Audience Member An amazing documentary. A group of Palestinians are brought on a tour of Israel. Some of them remember having lived in the Israeli borders before the 1948 war. An interesting look at the lives of Palestinians, and the fragile communication between Israelis and Palestinians. Watch it, but don't expect it to be action-packed. Instead, you will gain more insight into Israel and Palestinians. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review walter m "The Inner Tour" is a fascinating documentary about what sounds like a common subject - a guided tour. What sets this movie apart is that it is about a group of Palestinians(ages ranging from children to elderly, some of whom live in refugee camps) touring Israel.(This is one of the only ways Palestinians are allowed into Israel proper.) So, we see the country through their eyes and learn about the struggles they have faced over the years. The best parts of the film were when Israelis and Palestinians conversed with each other. The movie also serves as an insightful look into Israel - both its history and people, while showcasing certain parts of the country I had not seen on film before. And I especially liked the section about the kibbutz. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member (DVD) (First Viewing, 1st Alexandrowicz film) Before uprisings in 2000 halted peace talks, one of the few ways a Palestinian could get into Israel was to take a bus tour of the country. The irony, of course, is that these "tourists" visit areas that they consider their homeland, and in many ways their destiny. The tour, which begins as a trip for pleasure and relaxation, quickly turns into an intense emotional journey. While it is obvious that this was an inexpensive production, the message of the film shines through. Funny that the perspective of the Palestinian people is brought to us with both compassion and clarity by none other than a Jewish man. Perhaps there is hope for this sad situation.
