Liam Lacey Globe and Mail Though the subject merits serious attention, the tone feels unduly alarmist, echoing panics of previous decades about things such as comic books and rap lyrics. Rated: 2.5/4 Dec 6, 2013 Full Review Mark Kermode Observer (UK) It's unsettling viewing, and smartly sidesteps allegations of parental paranoia by talking directly to those "digital natives" whose lives are being transformed (for better and worse) by the web. Rated: 3/5 Sep 23, 2013 Full Review Donald Clarke Irish Times Imagine a documentary on this awful internet thing made by your mum - presuming your mum is something other than cool - and you will have an idea what to expect from Beeban Kidron's woeful whinge. Rated: 2/5 Sep 20, 2013 Full Review Tom Watson CineVue Each social quandary investigated in InRealLife screams for greater attention. But it's with this that Kidron's strong journalistic flair falters. Rated: 2/5 Mar 2, 2019 Full Review David Berry National Post Given that we're not even sure of the effects that always being connected have on the world, it feels somewhere between premature and panic-y to make the children the primary cause of our hand-wringing. Rated: 2.5/4 Dec 6, 2013 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...a relentless information dump that's rarely able to live up to the promise of its initial setup. Audience Member You would want to watch this if you're a parent (she says whilst she shares this online) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Alarmist overtones notwithstanding, this intelligently made documentary showcases some of the undoubtedly real negative side-effects of a ubiquitous internet. Each of the segments it covers (pornography, Facebook, video games, cyber-bullying, etc.) deserves a better-made documentary of its own. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent documentary, food for thought... should I be using social media to broadcast this though?!
