Inside Man is a smart, slick thriller that proves a long runtime can still fly when the story is this sharp. Denzel Washington anchors the film with charisma as a detective locked in a high stakes chess match with Clive Owen’s cool, calculating bank robber, while Jodie Foster adds icy authority as the mysterious power broker pulling strings behind the scenes. Spike Lee’s direction keeps the tension tight, layering social commentary into a twisting game of lies, misdirection, and clever reveals. The screenplay constantly flips expectations, letting both cops and criminals show their intelligence as the plot unravels piece by piece. Strong supporting turns, including Willem Dafoe, enrich the world and deepen the stakes. It’s a movie that rewards attention, builds suspense through dialogue as much as action, and lands its surprises with confidence. Inside Man is gripping, entertaining, and endlessly rewatchable, a modern crime classic that balances brains, style, and pure movie fun. Bravo

Exciting thriller. I couldn't guess what was coming next. I did correctly guess one or two moments. One of those movies where you rewatch and understand what happened in a particular scene, based on having seen the movie and knowing how it ends.
