Erik H Only a few Finnish films achieve pure perfection, and this film is definitely one of those few! Inspector Frans J. Palmu, the main character played by Joel Rinne, in all his grumpiness, is a downright likable character whose brainstorming while solving a strange murder mystery is very fascinating to watch. The police assistants interpreted by Matti Ranin and Leo Jokela in connection with all this processing also have their own charm, including a colorful bunch of suspects in the middle of the investigation. The film noir-style detective story offers plenty of excitement and humor that guarantees at least a smile, seasoned by atmospheric photography and music. As the director, Matti Kassila has complete knowledge of how to get the viewer to be sucked into an impressive thriller. I highly recommend!
