Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Shark movies don’t get more atrocious than this ham-fisted, shot-on-the-cheap exercise with a cardboard plot to match its cardboard characters. Rated: 1/4 Jan 29, 2025 Full Review Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times This is a serviceable, suitably gory and intermittently scary film with some solid action sequences. Rated: 2.5/4 Jan 24, 2025 Full Review Leslie Felperin Guardian It’s like the plot was dreamed up by a hack who overheard his six-year-old pitting Lego figurines against one another. Rated: 2/5 Jan 21, 2025 Full Review Michael A. Smith MediaMikes And what a great bit of casting to have Mr. Dreyfuss in the cast. He has always had a way of holding the audience with just his words, and as we listen to his advice, shown through flashbacks, you hang on every word. Rated: 3.5/5 May 24, 2025 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews No Jaws. Rated: C Apr 7, 2025 Full Review Marie Asner Phantom Tollbooth Those who are based on land will enjoy the film, while those based on the water may see this as an average film. Emerson W. Even attempting to look for a bad movie to watch; this movie was difficult to even finish. No real storyline to follow and the acting is horrid. The gore and the action isn’t even fun to watch. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/13/25 Full Review C R. There should be a negative continuum of stars for movies this bad. My first thought is someone needed a tax break for equipment or film production, so they threw together nonsense. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/10/25 Full Review Lee G Richard Dreyfus’s was the only one that didn’t get a free trip to wherever this was filmed. Jon Seda has done good things in his career but this was a bad choice. Dumb movie. B movie to kill time if you need to do so. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/25/25 Full Review Scott O I've never seen a movie trying so hard to be good movie and failing so badly. The characters are one dimensional and the dialog is laughable at times. It's almost as if the director saw scenes from good movies and tried to emulate them in this one even if they don't fit or make any sense. The final showdown with the shark is a great example of this. You can kind of see what he's going for but it makes no sense and goes on for way longer than it should. And then there's the cgi which is hands down some of the worst I've ever seen. It makes Sharknado look like Avatar. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/21/25 Full Review Alfred P I wasn't aware of Richard Dryfuss's drinking problem..after watching his scenes it was obvious he was pretty lit.. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/20/25 Full Review Maggie V Wow. This was so bad it was...bad. Nothing to save it. Weak/predictable story, awful writing/dialogue, mediocre acting which is probably the best they could do with what they were given. Yikes. Richard Dreyfuss must have needed a paycheck to sign onto this mess. The worst amongst the bad moments? The shark whisperer interaction between Great White and protagonist haunted by the memory of her dad's death by shark. Costuming was interesting. Only the protagonist had on a wetsuit top when diving - no other characters did. Only one "bad guy" had on a mask on a boat full of other bad guys. Not sure who he didn't want to recognize him out in the middle of the ocean. The lead bad guy was sterotypical - either smoking a cigar or swigging some booze out of a flask, half-up man ponytail, black leather vest in the middle of the ocean. Straight out of Central Casting. Watch a documentary on sharks or just watch Jaws again. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/15/25 Full Review Read all reviews
