Christy Lemire RogerEbert.com The best thing about “Invader” is that it’s short. But for much of its 69-minute runtime, it is thoroughly unpleasant, which makes it feel much longer. Rated: 1.5/4 Feb 21, 2025 Full Review Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times Writer-director Keating knows how to deliver the goods in lean fashion, with “Invader” clocking in at just 70 minutes and ending on a fantastically creepy note of utter dread. Rated: 3/4 Nov 13, 2024 Full Review Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle At a raw and rare 70 minutes, Invader is Keating challenging himself to deliver the leanest, sparest home invasion imaginable. Rated: 3/5 Nov 13, 2024 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue An almost disorienting sense of dread lingers throughout this gritty low-budget thriller, even if the narrative doesn’t add up to much in the end. Feb 21, 2025 Full Review Mark Dujsik Mark Reviews Movies [This] thriller ... might have something deeper to say but ... avoids saying it or, for that matter, being much of a thriller. Rated: 1.5/4 Feb 21, 2025 Full Review Joel Harley Starburst Running at a brisk 70 minutes, Invader burns hot and fast, staying just long enough to kick the doors in and trash the joint. Madelyn C It did an excellent job of setting up tension and creating a very uncomfortable and unsettling atmosphere during the first half. I was on the edge of my seat, but at some point during the final act it started to go off the rails a bit. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/17/24 Full Review Read all reviews
