But while it's first and foremost a terrific showcase for some imaginative designers, Invaders From Mars also holds together fairly well as a movie. Go to Full Review

...the first half of Invaders From Mars is easily the best, with a strange off-kilter feel that comes from slavishly updating a 50's storyline... Go to Full Review

TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Dec 3 Invaders of Mars (1986) is a frustrating and underwhelming film from start to finish. It never manages to engage the viewer, feeling more like a disjointed spoof than a coherent sci-fi story. The screenplay is erratic and flat, moving back and forth without building tension or narrative momentum. Scenes fail to connect, and the plot lacks focus or purpose, leaving the audience confused and disengaged. The cast appears lost in the material, with performances that are inconsistent and unconvincing, making it difficult to invest in the characters. Direction does little to improve the film, with uneven pacing and tonal shifts that undermine any suspense or excitement. Despite its sci-fi premise, the film fails to deliver entertainment or cohesion. Invaders of Mars is a hollow, disappointing experience that does not justify the viewer’s time. See more Robert S Nov 9 The only things interesting about this ridiculous movie are the creature designs, and even those are kinda laughable. The acting is so amateurish and flat, it feels like a junior high school performance. And there are many times the movie makes no sense, and random things happen just because. And the kid who anchors it all seems detached and emotionless and kind of indifferent, probably his first acting job. It just wasn’t convincing or engaging on any level. See more CodyZamboni Z Oct 19 Remake is watchable, campy, and never boring, But cheesy fx, a jokey approach, annoying story developments, ruin the fun, And even though it copies the original's ending, it still feels like a cheat, which lowers the overall impact, Nice cast hams it up. See more thiago s @Thiagostone Sep 17 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas de terror são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Cees T May 25 Interesting collage of '80s shows like Under the Mountain, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Critters, but I fell asleep before it got to the Dune / Starship Troopers / Duke Nukem part. 3/10 - No good. See more Bradley C Apr 21 If you remake a classic you better do a good job or people will say you made a cheap ripoff. This is the cheapest, shoddiest ripoff in the history of movie making. The cast must have been desperate for a paycheck to be in this mess. Watch the original. See more Read all reviews
