Synopsis
This movie depicts the real-life events of the 1979 Iranian hostage situation, which was instigated by a revolution within the country. When a group of Islamic militants take over the United States embassy in Tehran, more than 50 American citizens are held for over a year, leading to a lengthy diplomatic crisis with Iran. The film portrays how both President Jimmy Carter (George Grizzard) and the shah of Iran (Daniel Gélin) deal with the tense ongoing situation.
