Audience Member Slap-together plot that ends on the climax, but that climax is probably worth the watch due to the gory effects and craziness of it all. Typical 60's b-movie characters, slow pacing, and some cheesy moments. While there's plenty of missed potential, the movie is likable enough. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Fun Spanish take of Little Shop Of Horrors that lands on my "So Bad It's Good" list. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Laughably- inept Spanish-German co-production (You know THAT means quality!) detailing a happy-go-lucky and totally-bonkers European Baron/Botanist (The always-unsubtle and scenery-demolishing Cameron Mitchell-) who delights in sacrificing the unlucky visitors to his private island to his favorite horticultural-horror, the enormous, blood-sucking "Vampire Tree", a slimy, tentacled monstrosity that happily drains precious bodily fluids from its hapless victims on command. An ultra-kitschy cheese-fest that revels in bucket-fulls of risible, poorly-executed gore effects, thinly-etched characters, and somnambulistic non-acting by a cast of atrociously-dubbed Euro-Trash Thespians, all adding up to a simply despicable, yet thoroughly-enjoyable experience in bad taste and unfettered sleaze. The most amusing character is a plump, raspy-voiced old lady who spends the entire picture running around the seedy isle taking pictures, and inexplicably insists on going outside in a raging thunderstorm to snap some photos of lightning! Probably the best thing about the flick are the interesting and creative animated opening credits with some bizarrely-catchy music! You gotta' know any movie with at least five titles has to be something special! An outrageous exercise in mid-60's schlock, an acquired taste, to be sure--one of my many "Guilty Pleasures".
