CodyZamboni Dumb, stupid, campy, cheap, lame, with laughable fx. Roddy McDowell takes command of indestructible gollem, orders it to kill rivals and try to get a hot blonde girl. When not playing gollem master, he's keeping his momma corpse happy with stolen jewels. Roddy hams it up and goes full bore hyper nerd. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/13/23 Full Review dave s When Arthur Pimm (Roddy McDowall), a disgruntled assistant curator at a museum, figures out how to bring an ancient golem to life, mayhem soon follows. Well, it's not really mayhem because golems are traditionally slow moving, but bad things certainly start to happen. It! may be one of the most benign horror movies ever made, never even coming close to eliciting a shudder or a scare. It does create a few unintentional laughs, however, most notably when the military tries to blow it up with a nuclear warhead (always ill-advised), only to watch the golem saunter off into the ocean. On the bright side, McDowall seems to be having fun throughout. The audience? Not so much. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member This one is worth seeing if only for McDowall's sterling performance. During the 60's and 70's he had a corner on the market of the crazy you could love. Perkins was always just a bit to white bread, whereas McDowall was full blooded and had a streak of pathos. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member too much like Norman Bates and the superior 'psycho!" Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Filme ligeiramente imbecil sobre um golem amaldiçoado tenta provar que alguns homens estão dispostos a tudo por poder e mulheres bonitas, mas conseguiu mesmo bem foi deixar-me a dormir duas vezes. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Roddy McDowall is great as a power mad curator of an English museum who gains mastery of the Golem. His obsession with Jill Haworth leads to murder and kidnapping and a climax that has to be seen to be believed. It's a fun film, filled with lots of gruesome deaths and one of my favorite Roddy McDowall films. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
