Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Itsy Bitsy works well enough on its own terms, providing some genuine jolts and benefiting from the excellent performances. Aug 29, 2019 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times The gothic atmosphere and the disgustingly gooey special effects are the main attraction. The existential dread is just an extra. Aug 29, 2019 Full Review Alan Jones Radio Times Existential family drama meets standard horror tropes in this creepy-crawly creature feature. Rated: 3/5 Aug 15, 2023 Full Review Emma Wolfe SpookyAstronauts Throughout the whole film everything is so overly spelled out and we're constantly being reminded about it. They left no room for the audience to have an "aha moment". Rated: 4/10 Oct 27, 2020 Full Review Tracy Allen PopHorror.com Itsy Bitsy is a perfect combination of Hollywood-quality filmmaking and indie creativeness. Rated: 8/10 Oct 27, 2019 Full Review Rob Aldam Backseat Mafia What Micah Gallo's monster may lack in sheer size, it more than makes up for in the terror it induces. Michael P I mean, it's okay. Plot armor does exist though. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/01/24 Full Review Thomas R "People need to believe in something whether it's to blame or to praise. You believe in something long enough and hard enough, it becomes reality." – Walter Clark (Bruce Davison) The huge, hairy spider in "Itsy Bitsy" is a metaphor for mother/nurse Kara Spencer's (Elizabeth Roberts) anxiety, her emotional trauma caused by losing a child, and her subsequent Opioid addiction. The stronger the spider grows and spins her enchanting webs, and the frenzied rate of her procreation (planting egg sacks in strategic spots in the attic), the more spindly and vulnerable the protagonist becomes. Director and screenwriter Micah Gallo tells a simple, yet beautifully-&-tensely-told horror tale; he has a nook-&-cranny, cinematic eye; and the cast gives a flawless performance, especially the two child actors Chloe Perrin (Cambria Spencer) and Arman Darbo (Jesse Spencer). The spider/kid fight scenes will freak you out. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/17/23 Full Review StephenPaul C The scariest 01 hour: and 35 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/13/23 Full Review Audience Member "Would you check under my bed?"... Cinematography and editing are great! The monster is only a secondary character, the first one is the family drama, portrayed in a genuine way.
