Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express [Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na] is cleverly-written, smartly-acted, and packed with enough fuzzy-frothy moments to make it a fun run. May 8, 2019 Full Review Gautaman Bhaskaran Hollywood Reporter The witty one-liners, quirkiness of the director and performances shorn of artifice make this one of the better works to emerge from Bollywood this year. Sarthak B the antithesis of toxic masculinity and a love letter to the "friends to lovers" trope along with slice of life moments about college life and college friends. the rise of imran khan and his romcom films began with this and I'm just glad he existed because no matter the quality of films he gave us, they were sure to make you feel good at the very least. I'm just bummed he isn't doing any movies now after having such a cute cult following. genelia also works quite well in the film. I remember seeing her for the first time in Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya and I instantly thought, man what an energetic person! now I see where that's coming from. she's absolutely cute in the film and the one who has to go through the worst in order to get to the best. for the rest of the cast, I'd say manjari fadnis' meghna deserved better and that sumbitch sushant didn't deserve a thing. one complaint tho, stereotyping jignesh was not necessary, feels really bad to see such a character. the soundtrack is just. I have no words. it is bound to lift you up with "kabhi kabhi aditi", make you yearn for love with "kahin toh" and make you groove with "pappu can't dance". i feel kinda bad for not watching this earlier but I'm glad I did now. great film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/11/23 Full Review Ahmed M Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, is a youth-oriented movie, made very beautifully. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/16 Full Review Audience Member i couldn't believe it.. The story seemed aimless and plotless for the first 45 minutes. Too much music and dance in that first part. Then later, it just became cliched and unbelievable - and Meghna was really hurt by this playful two! and Jai and Aditi weren't necessarily in love.. i mean gosh.. at 21?! One saving grace, I got to see Pratiek Babbar, Aditi's brother :) Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm a fan of Abbas Tyrewala's writing already but he definitely has skill as a director. Imran Khan and the gorgeous Genelia D'Souza are just so wonderful in this Ramedy (romance/drama/comedy yes I made it up) Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member slow start... only last 10 mins are really comedy.. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Although a dependable Bollywood young-love romantic-comedy, "Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na" fails in its many attempts to be a dramatic work. While Imran Khan and Genelia D'Souza prove entertaining, attempts at serious character development and dramatic work ultimately fail due to the abysmal script. Genuinely funny at times, the unique plot construction is carried awkwardly by an unbelievable social dynamic between the group of friends who tell the story. However, the film has a high production quality that demonstrates Bollywood's technical perfectionism and deliberate aesthetics. The film has mass appeal and for this reason it has very little masala. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
