James W I watch this film a few times a year, every year. Voice acting is great, animation is classic 70's. Humor is on point. Music is trippy. Villain is iconic. What's not to love? It can't even keep a consistent tone, but again, that's not a bad thing. Even the musical numbers in it are weird, and catchy too (especially the wedding song, THE weirdest scene in the whole movie). So yeah, weird describes the whole movie, but it's entertaining and visually it will never disappoint. But being kids in upstate NY in the 70's my brothers and I remember seeing it quite a few times and enjoying it. Yes it was strange, but movies/cartoons and the music accompanied with them was strange back in those days. I found it on DVD and had to buy it. My brothers and I got a kick out of watching it as adults. We remembered a lot more than we thought we would. If you are into strange cartoon movies from the 70ï¿ 1/2(TM)s, you need to check this out. I re-watched it out of curiosity to see if it was just me, but NO this movie is really dark for a kid's fairytale. I'm wondering if the filmmakers intended for it to be creepy or it just turned out that way...mind you it was the 70s! There was some slow parts, but overall the movie was very entertaining, with some beautiful melodies. Very nostaligic. A must see!
