The script, by Mr. Dekker, spirals into a muddle of ambiguity, leaving only the imagery and the performances to save the movie. And try as they might, they cannot. Go to Full Review

While the movie's artfully made and daringly disturbing, Dekker ultimately overestimates how many sick twists one motion picture needs. Go to Full Review

What's more disappointing than the competing storylines is the emotional void created by these joyless characters. Go to Full Review

Doesn't quite find the right tone between drama and horror, but still offers some effectively unsettling sequences. Go to Full Review

The film looks great and has very good performances that grab you and make you want to see what happens next, how it ends. Go to Full Review

Julia L Apr 28 This movie is devastating but I think it deserves more credits than it gets. It’s dark, sad, slightly triggering at times, but it shows how grief can unravel a person- especially one with obvious trauma and PTSD. I found myself engaged throughout when during most movies I’m reaching for my phone to scroll through social media at slow points. Definitely not a feel good film, but it never pretends to be one. Spoilers: I loved the twist of Jack’s mother being dead at the end, I think it really tied together just how damaged his mind is. I also love the last shot where it pans out to show that there is no next door neighbor, he was just slowly reliving his childhood trauma in a the form of experiencing his repressed memories as an adult. I would watch this movie again now that I know the ending. See more Scorsese's Taint 2 10/01/2024 Rory Caulkin was interesting enough to make me sit through this dementia patients journal as a screenplay See more Miranda M 07/27/2024 There is a twist at the end but it makes no sense. The entire story the movie is built on is flawed if this twist is true. The main character wouldn't be at the house. The main character is not likable but his mother was awful so he never really stood a chance of coming out with a great personality. Also, why did they have to hurt the dog and kill him later on? That dog was my favourite character and the best friend. I was pausing this movie like crazy and finding excuses to leave. I made it through but definitely won't be watching it again. See more Melissa L @Agent99 05/23/2024 This movie wass most excellent. It was well-acted, and I did not anticipate the ending. Ignore the tasteless ratings. I recommend you view it. See more mia x 09/21/2023 Such a good plot twist. Acting is fabulous. I went through lots of emotions whilst watching. See more 05/08/2022 I so wanted to love the movie. Rory is such a good actor. But it sucks hard. The casting doesn't make sense. Thr neighbor guy looks 30. Rory looks 16. Still do not understand it at all. See more Read all reviews
