Audience Member Netfix must hate me. Listed as horror, but soooo NOT. The monster isn't even in the closet, it's in a crawlspace from OUTSIDE the house. All the characters beyond Jake are A-class jerks. We're the directors trying to alienate the audience too. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member interesting forced-to-grow-up-too-fast film. Really well done, the two child actors do an awesome job. They carry the film and portray the 'hidden' world that exists for kids when adults are not available perfectly. The adults are almost superfluous to the story, other then as the cause. They set the stage, not much else. Mom and best friend are more caricatures than characters, very over the top and annoying enough that even if they are in the right, you want the monster to get them just to shut them up. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Frustrating to watch. Horror movie about an IMAGINARY MONSTER? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member (**): An interesting concept, but it just isn't as good as it could have been. Fair at best. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Most of the movie was ok even thought the zombie looked lame. I knew he was seeing the zombie because of his parents going through a divorce, but I wished it ended differently. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member I found this quirky low budget movie to be surprisingly good. Even though this movie is about a boy who's afraid of the zombie living in his closet, it's not a zombie movie. The movie is about his fears and frustration with his parents. They're having an ugly divorce and the mom is totally psycho. If you have a dysfunctional family you'll totally understand the dark humor and hypocrisy written into the mother and other insane adults lines. Jake is awesome in the movie and does a great job as the main character. He's not going to win any awards but you feel for him and his plight. The director did a decent job keeping Jake as the focus even getting down to level/pov. Made it feel more out of control since you can only see what he can. Its not over done though My only complaint was the end, it was a bit of a let down and is the weakest point unfortunately. Closure you will not be getting, but jacked up families rarely do. Stand By Me and The Lady in White pop into my head with this movie. This low budget movie can't compete with those but I still think it was a great effort.
