Steve D I love Baxter. I love Austen. There wasn't enough here. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/13/23 Full Review Audience Member The film was an interesting re-visit to the 80's, and in that respect it was fun to watch, but the unswerving devotion of his acolytes to Pierre was hard to believe. I watched the film as I love Jane Austen's novels, and expected to find some of her themes and ideas in the film, but mostly the film explored power and manipulation without Austen's wry humour. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member UNEVEN AND SOMEWHAT DATED AT LEAST IT SEEMED 2 ME IN 2013. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member At the end, you get to say "what the hell was THAT?" Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member seems a little dated but was great to see anne baxter and sean young(the year b4 rockin it in "blade runner") a behind the scenes look at (based on a true story) of a found jane austin play and 2 director rivals who each want to put the newly discovered play but each in a different style-one sticking true to the time and costumes the other 'modernizing' it to avant garde theater all about eve+a chorus line= this one. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Disappointing finale for Anne Baxter as this is a very disjointed storyline simply for the fact that there is just too much going on away from the main plot.
