      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Jane Got a Gun flounders between campy Western and hard-hitting revisionist take on the genre, leaving Natalie Portman's committed performance stranded in the dust.

Melanie P Movies about Southen Unionists killing Confederates is deplorable. Ewan as Bishop was excellent as murderer. Ham was an excellent patsy. Not a good plot and most dint have such a syrupy happy ending. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/02/24 Full Review Jean-Michel C "Natalie Got a Gun" should've been the title, given the impressive number of bullets N.P. either took or dodged, I'd say more of the latter in the end. Good job, excellent job anyway, the horse she chose to saddle and ride proved to be quite a wild one, but I have to admit that she made it to the final destination in the most beautiful way. O'Connor did a perfect job, acting is impeccable, really impeccable, filming is exactly what we expect from a western, the plot is a solid one. I personally loved it, kept me glued to the screen up to the very end, It deserves a full five star, it is a strong performance. I tip my hat to the Lady. Now, with all due respect to Mr McGregor who's pitch perfect as the lead villain, genuinely vicious, I'd be however interested to see how the film would've fared with Mr Cooper. Not Gary of course, but his spiritual son. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review Travis W The best and most reliable crypto recovery expert service for me ever goes to CYBER GENIE HACK PRO! Wow; these guys are so good at their job and their customer service relationship is so friendly and reliable. I made a huge error with a transaction at work, sending $68,000 worth of BTC to the wrong wallet address. Tension arose and I was literally shaking even while I searched online for a possible solution. I contacted the customer support of the wallet address provider but they said they couldn't help. I was about to pay my company money I never spent till I read something about CYBER GENIE HACK PRO Recovery services and I immediately contacted them. Because the money hadn't been withdrawn and contacted on time, they were able to retrace the transaction, and the money was credited back to the company's wallet swiftly. How would I have explained to the company I am innocent, CYBER GENIE saved my life. "http: // cybergeniehackpro (.) x y z " (+12)(5)(25)(12)(03)(91).. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/26/23 Full Review jan t One of my favourite westerns of recent years. Natalie Portman and Joel Edgerton are both excellent in a movie that rewards a little patience in the beginning. The tension builds well, and the conclusion is very satisfying. My only slight disappointment was the lack of subtlety in Ewan McGregor's villain. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member JANE'S GOT A GUN is a surprise western with a great performance and a classic outlaw tale. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member It's got an interesting plot and a strong lead performance from Portman, but otherwise it's kind of a flat Western. Though a did appreciate the characters struggle with morality. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/16/20 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com What is here is enjoyable if taken on its own terms, much of Jane Got a Gun playing out with a 1940s or '50s Hollywood lan I found more than satisfying. Rated: 3/4 Aug 15, 2016 Full Review Charlotte O'Sullivan London Evening Standard Is it possible that Natalie Portman can't act? Rated: 2/5 Apr 24, 2016 Full Review Tim Robey Daily Telegraph (UK) There's hardly a scene you watch without wondering, and doubting, if Ramsay would have done it quite this way. Rated: 2/5 Apr 24, 2016 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies “Jane Got a Gun” is the definition of bland. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 22, 2022 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review It's hard to greet Jane Got a Gun with much more than an admirable shrug. It's a serviceable film, but it's also evident where improvements could have been made. Rated: 2.5/4 Apr 22, 2022 Full Review Nikki Baughan AWFJ.org Beautifully shot in New Mexico by cinematographer Mandy Walker, who provided equally as evocative visuals for the likes of Shattered Glass, Tracks and Truth, Jane Got a Gun is a female-centric Western that deserves to be seen.
