Patrick Cavanaugh The Wolfman Cometh Given the dregs of this franchise, it's hard to call this an "embarrassment," but it does show how far the franchise fell over its tenure. Rated: 1/5 Sep 11, 2025 Full Review Brian Bisesi Horror Movie Club Podcast While the decision to take the franchise in a new direction is admirable, the film’s plot is so nonsensical and convoluted that the creative team’s big swing ends up as a big whiff. Rated: 1.5/5 Oct 11, 2023 Full Review Trace Thurman Horror Queers Podcast It's very, very, very, very, very, very stupid. Rated: 2/5 Dec 30, 2020 Full Review Matthew Rozsa matthewrozsa.com If Jason Goes To Hell had been a standalone film, it might have worked; as a Friday the 13th movie, it sucks. Rated: 2.5/4 Nov 17, 2020 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews A return to the near unwatchableness of certain earlier installments... Rated: 1.5/4 Apr 13, 2015 Full Review Steve Newton Georgia Straight I've now seen all nine of the series' entries, so trust me when I say that Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday is very likely the worst of the bunch. Guilherme M i tought the movie was going to be a lot worse, but despite the reviews and the fans, it's not that bad, the cgi and special effects are pretty good for it's time (1993). I don't think the story is that bad, but the ideia of mitology and mystical creatures in a movie about a psycho that kills in a camp is pretty exaggerated. And again a normal flaw in Friday the 13th movies : Non memorable characters. All i can remember after a day is the bounty hunter that breaks fingers. But the ending is pretty good, the movie is pretty solid for the fan base. But yeah, it's way gorier and nastier, and obviously it wants to add nudity because "it's a teens movie". Obviously belongs to the worst movies of the franchise. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/10/25 Full Review Dylan P Worth A Watch But The Ending Is Good Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/10/25 Full Review Khaliel P After being left in Manhattan’s sewers, Jason returns to Crystal Lake, proving The Final Return wasn’t so final. Dean Lorey’s script has Jason’s spirit find a new body through a family member, targeting the Voorhees descendants. Despite this reincarnation twist, the film struggles with uninspired kills, the forced introduction of a previously unknown sister, and weak narrative. Directed by inexperienced Adam Marcus, the movie suffers from poor character direction and coherence, while borrowing elements from Evil Dead with the Necronomicon and Kandarian dagger. Overall, it is an even weaker entry than its already disappointing predecessor. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/23/25 Full Review Johan C. Worst movie in the franchise by far. Jason is barely in this film, and no, him (SPOILER ALERT!!!!) possesing people after his death does not count Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/12/25 Full Review Pedro Henrique C Jason Goes to Hell is the worst film in the franchise, its scenes are completely pathetic and useless, the story of this film is crazy, I find it difficult for anyone to like it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/06/25 Full Review James B I believe I am one of five people who enjoyed Jason goes to hell and it's not that bad and it is quite enjoyable yet interesting.
