Jasper Mall's showcases all that is valiantly ridiculous about the fight to keep the shopping center open in a tone that is both warm and dignified. Go to Full Review

The beauty of Jasper Mall is through its ability to retain an upbeat narrative while never losing sight of the inevitably bleak outcome. Go to Full Review

Thomason & Whitcomb let the film unfold with a simple grace that recalls the early works of Errol Morris and the Maysles. There's a subtle sadness with the occasional laugh, but ultimately it feels like real life and that is something worth remembering. Go to Full Review

02/18/2022 Interesting views of the struggles of a mall in a world of declining in person retail sales. See more 08/18/2021 Jasper Mall is like the Titanic, you know its going down. However, you want to know how the people are doing inside. As we find out they aren't doing well. But that is why we watch isn't it? Spoiler Alert: Not everyone dies in this film, just one. See more 02/22/2021 Very well done. Poignant, kind and honest. See more William L 11/27/2020 Excellent. Very close to E. Morris level doc. Have to admit to feeling a little heartache here. Malls were never all THAT bad, were they? You could pal around with friends, chase girls, people watch and get an Orange Julius. Try getting any pleasure out of that at Walmart or even Costco. See more 11/17/2020 If you're contemplating suicide don't watch this movie. All you want is for it to be over with. I could only take 10 minutes of this before I had to end it. The movie that is. It's not a history of the mall/s throughout the decades, it's watching a security guard open the mall, shop owners open stores, old people walking, old people playing dominoes, flower shop owner talking to a customer. Its nothing that would pertain to creating an interesting or intriguing story about the Jasper Mall. It's literally as if I walked into a mall and sat down on a bench. What crazy person thought this movie was a good idea? See more 11/15/2020 Amazing subtle portrait of the American Mall, which is really a portrait on the peak of consumerism - a lot of optimism in this film & Mike carries it. Love the style, soundtrack & I can't stop thinking about it. Kudos & look forward to more from the directors See more Read all reviews
