Critics Consensus

Jeruzalem's setting adds an interesting twist to this found-footage horror outing, even if the end result is still somewhat pedestrian.

Barry Hertz Globe and Mail Old Jerusalem isn't often glimpsed on the big screen, though it's a shame that, in this case, it simply serves as the backdrop to some rampaging CGI demons and half-baked theology about the gates of hell. Rated: 1.5/4 Jan 29, 2016 Full Review Neil Genzlinger New York Times The more desperate the characters' flight becomes, the less interesting the movie grows. Jan 28, 2016 Full Review Cary Darling Fort Worth Star-Telegram/DFW.com If not for its setting, the Israeli horror film Jeruzalem would be just another video verite, found-footage, would-be scarefest with little to make it unique...There's just not much scare there. Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 28, 2016 Full Review Jordan Brooks Vague Visages An ambling tour of Israel’s capital, JeruZalem fumbles along as its selfish characters lose focus on the plotlines they once seemed so interested in, and the film begins to crumble like its focal city. Aug 1, 2023 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse Everything is bumpy-jumpy which is quite exciting when giant winged gargoyles are plaguing them, less so when they are sitting by the pool. Rated: 3/5 Feb 3, 2021 Full Review Joey Keogh Wicked Horror There is a lot of good stuff here, and the Biblical elements give it some much-needed edge, but in the end it's simultaneously too much and not enough. Rated: 5/10 Oct 3, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Joseph V I would love to see a part two. Although I wish the ending was made more clear. This was an exciting movie to watch. No matter Jew or Christian. It touches on mysticism and mythology and is very cool Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/17/24 Full Review Immet 0 This is by far the worst movie ever. - the plotline is messy and switches every time - selfish and poorly writtten characters - its not slightly scary because you constantly try to figure out whats happening - the list goes on The best thing about this film is when its over. If I could I would rate it 0/5 Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/28/24 Full Review Callaway H Ok special effects but high school level story Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/20/24 Full Review Manuel O It's the worst horror movie I've ever seen Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/12/24 Full Review Al J This was a pretty decent, entertaining movie. Originality is always welcome, and there are a lot of original ideas here: like most people say, the location of Jerusalem invites to discover a little about the city, even you are not into this genre of movies. In second place: the Google Glasses thing is interesting, and makes you feel as if you were playing a First Person Adventure Game. And last, but not least, the biblical references, that I would liked to be more explored in the late development of the plot. Once said that, the third act it's very similar to "Cloverfield", which it's ok to me. You better copy a good movie and not a bad one. But this movie is ok. Specially if you consider it low budget. Great achievement. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/24 Full Review Emilliano S Decent found footage horror. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
