William Bibbiani TheWrap It’s not just 'Netflix holiday rom-com good.' It’s actually very, very good. Nov 26, 2025 Full Review Benjamin Lee Guardian While there’s nothing all that remarkable about the streamer’s latest festive effort, crime caper turned romcom Jingle Bell Heist, there’s just about enough to give it an edge over its more anemic peers. Rated: 3/5 Nov 26, 2025 Full Review Archi Sengupta LeisureByte.com Jingle Bell Heist is enjoyable and different, but it needed more pep in its step! Rated: 2.5/5 Nov 27, 2025 Full Review Rachel Wagner Hallmarkies Podcast The casting is unexpected and fun. It's entertaining Nov 27, 2025 Full Review Luna Guthrie Collider he thoroughly entertaining villains should have played more of a role, as should the store, and the material should have been more comedy-focused and delivered by actors with more of a knack for it. Rated: 5/10 Nov 26, 2025 Full Review Alan French Sunshine State Cineplex It’s not funny, not romantic, and not fun. Joanna T I really liked the ending, but the movie was slow and some parts were very boring and drawn out. It was a 90min movie but I guess it could have been less. Sophia works at a jewelry store in which she sometimes steals petty cash. She is seen on camera by an IT guy named Nick, who was looking at the computer footage. He confronts her and wants her to help him steal stuff from the jewelry store. It turns out that her mom is sick and needs expensive medical treatment, while Nick and his ex are separated but share a daughter and he needs more money so that he can get his own apt and get his life together so his daughter has a place to go to when she visits him. Nick attends a gala in which the jewelry store owner Sterling and his wife will attend. He flirts with her and gets her to take him back to her place, where he will look for a fob with changing security codes to Sterling's safe. (Sterling also flirts with Sophia but she doesn't take it further.) The safe is located at an office at the jewelry store. But the wife figures the scheme out. She gives them the fob, but on the condition that they split the profits with her. She hates her husband. After what seems like an unnecessarily large amount of trial and error, Nick and Sophia open the safe. (Sophia had convinced Nick to let her come because she said she can crack open the lock, since her uncle was a magician and she learned from him. However, there is another lock that requires DNA to unlock. Sophia puts her finger on it, and Nick realizes that Sophia is Sterling's daughter. Sohpia's mom had worked at the jewelry store. Sterling got her pregnant and fired her. He refused to meet Sophia when her mom brought her to the store, and threatened the mom with security personnel. Nick and Sophia get away before the police come. Sophia gets tackled by a security guard, but once the guard realizes that it is Sophia, his coworker, he lets her go after Sophia tells him what a bad guy Sterling is. Also, Sterling framed Nick for theft so Nick got prison time and has a record, but Nick actually didn't commit the crime back then. When Sterling got the call from Nick who pretends to be security personnel, Nick tells Sterling that his safe is being robbed. Sterling comes with policeman. However, when they open the safe, it turns out to be filled with jewelry that Sterling stole. The police arrest Sterling. Sterling and Sophia make eye contact as he's in the police car, and Sterling likely realizes then that Sophia is his daughter and had the DNA to unlock the safe. Since Nick is separated from his wife (though he does get an apt near where his daughter moved to), he and Sophia start dating. Nick's record probably gets cleared too since Sterling has a history of framing others for crimes that they didn't commit. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/28/25 Full Review Craig K This was a very enjoyable Christmas comedy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/28/25 Full Review L. F I would describe this film as "fine" - nothing remarkable, unexpected or different, but also not terrible. I feel like there was an extra ingredient missing, like everything needed to be dialled up a bit... I was looking for the comedy to be funnier, the sadness sadder, the romance more romantic and the villain more villainous. It was just a bit of a damp squib! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/27/25 Full Review Dave R Enjoyable Christmas movie from Netflix. Olivia was fantastic. Great plot likely to continue to propel similar future plots as business owners continue to steal from people Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/27/25 Full Review Camron V This is a heist movie lightly peppered with a Christmas setting and dull romance. The entire movie turns into background noise much like the set decorations and non-existent chemistry they try to pass off as Christmas romance. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/27/25 Full Review Gordon G Feels like a first draft rushed out in time for the holidays. Olivia Holt is convincing throughout and the supporting characters are solid. But the male lead was terribly miscast and he has zero chemistry with Holt. If I was his wife I’d leave him too! I really can’t recommend this one.
