dustin d Beast Stable, the third installment in the Female Prisoner Scorpion series, delivers some fine exploitation ideas, but has about two too many incest scenes. It is the most disturbing film in the series, without being as gratuitous. The plot could have used a little more direction, as most of the second act feels aimless. Awesome grand finale, though. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The series really should have finished here and in my eyes it did. This is a quality ending to the trilogy (the least said about Grudge Song the better) it is also probably the nastiest of the Scorpion films. The opening scene on the subway sets the tone. The revenge is so sweet and the ending is immense. Shame they tarnished its legacy by making a fourth, thankfully Shunya Ito wasn't involved in it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I know this is the third, and having not seen the second I was a bit lost. It's not too difficult to follow, but there were some things I had to figure out on my own. It doesn't quite have the visual flare of the first movie (though it has its moments) and the story isn't as interesting. Scorpion got her revenge in the first movie, and here it feels like things are just happening to happen. It's okay, but not as good as the first. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Ito finishes his trilogy with some impressive directing. Inverted colors, tilts, and a great bar scene with image skipping are the highlights. The visual effects leave much to be desired, especially the crow, but it is more than 40 years old. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member The third in the Scorpion series is definitely slower in pace than the first two, that is until the final 3rd of the movie. What can you say about Meiko Kaji that hasn't been said before - she's brilliant as the anti-heroine. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Anton Bitel Film International Matsushima may spend most, even all, of her time on the outside, but here the whole world has been converted into a penitentiary, and any escape is either short-lived or illusory. May 10, 2008 Full Review Read all reviews
