Charles S He seems bored and it feels like he's ripping off other comics material and then not telling it as well. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Judd Apatow writes and directs some of the best film out there but this standup was just not all that funny. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny until he went political. Too dramatic. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Surprisingly good! I found myself laughing more than I do with most stand-ups that do it for a living. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Pete Holmes did a bit on his short lived show called "Nice boy telling nice jokes." If that bit were a human boy who grew into an unfulfilled adult it would be Apatow in this stand up special. He's just a nice guy telling nice, if fairly dull, stories with adequate competency. He rambles from one topic to the next, dropping names and reflecting on his success in a charmless fashion. Spouting dad humor straight from facebook memes. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm somebody who regularly laughs at Apatow movies, so I expected his stand up to be pretty funny. It's just not. It's as if some random guy at work who thinks they are kind of witty is doing improv observational comedy. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Margaret Lyons New York Times He fares well, drawing on his anxieties and frustrations around raising daughters, and he somehow manages to be self-effacing while also talking about spending time with Paul McCartney and Barack Obama. Jul 8, 2019 Full Review Rob Lowman Orange County Register I'm not sure that Apatow should give up his day job. He may need another 25 years to come up with fresh material. But telling jokes for nearly 70 minutes and making people laugh hard, he proved he could do it with this amiable, amusing show. Jul 8, 2019 Full Review Brian Logan Guardian This all feels a bit mechanical, a problem confounded because this is a very American set, flitting magpie-like between subjects, with no arguments developed, no narrative, and nothing terrifically compelling to say. Rated: 2/5 Dec 13, 2017 Full Review Karen Martin Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Apatow's confident, yet self-deprecating delivery of relatable tales focusing on fatherhood, social media, and growing older make for a comfortable get-together that feels like catching up with a long-lost friend who's skilled at amusing those around him. Jul 8, 2019 Full Review Audra Schroeder The Daily Dot Apatow is famous enough that he can poke fun at his fame, but he can also revise his history. Rated: 3/5 Dec 15, 2017 Full Review Graham Techler Paste Magazine ... yet, by the end of the special, he does somehow position himself (one of the highest-status men in the country) as the lovable low-status pal we'd like him to be.
