Every line reads as if it were still on the page; every characterization is one-dimensional and unbending. At 90 minutes, the stilted dialogue might feel like a deliberate, stylized choice; at nearly two hours, it's infuriating.

i was really excited to see everything that went into his mothers death and was left hanging with a hollow feeling----alot of unanswered questions and who really killed the mother and why was his friend die and who done it----just a big let down at the end. other than that i enjoyed the build up of the movie

Tough guys all talking like Clint Eastwood-low half whispers. I mean, I can understand when one guy in 100 talks like that or maybe even 1 in 50. But certainly not EVERY damn male character in a movie. It's hard to take any film seriously when the director uses such a broad brush. The rest of the film slogs along. A lot of wasted space doesn't reach its goal of drawing us in. It's just plain dull.
